Our standards

A directory is only as good as its standards.

We're small on purpose. Every contractor in this directory is hand-reviewed before listing and re-checked annually. Here's exactly what that means.

1. Active Florida license

We verify each company holds an active CGC, CRC, CBC, or CCC license in good standing through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). Unlicensed or suspended licensees are rejected and removed.

2. Insurance and bonding

General liability and workers compensation must be current. Florida is one of the most litigated home improvement markets in the country — an uninsured installer is a homeowner's problem the moment something goes wrong.

3. Real service area

We ask each contractor where their crews are actually based and where they pull permits. Lee County contractors don't get listed on a Tampa Bay page. South Tampa specialists don't get listed in Naples.

4. Reputation review

We look at public reviews across Google, Better Business Bureau, and Florida DBPR complaint history. Patterns of unresolved complaints or licensing actions disqualify the company.

5. Reasons we remove a listing

Loss of license, sustained complaint pattern, repeat reports of unpermitted work, or failure to honor written warranties. We don't comment publicly — we just delist.

See a listed contractor who shouldn't be? Tell us — we take delisting seriously.
